If I want to do any scripting against vRA or vRO I either have to resort to CloudClient (clunky) or PowervRA/PowervRO (third-party). Rather than have VMware pour resources into CloudClient wouldn't it make more sense to port everything over to PowerCLI? Now that PowerShell/PowerCLI are multi-platform this seems to make a lot of sense. With regards to PowervRA/PowervRO i think that the work that Jonathan Medd/Jakku Labs is great but a lot of customers will be reluctant to adopt something that may, or may not, be sustained over the long term.
I also posted the same idea here: https://communities.vmware.com/thread/595533
